The summer of 2008 has been a very busy and special summer for our hospital. The absolute highlight of the season has been the safe arrival of 2 new baby boys to staff members Gail and Leeann. We also welcomed 2 new receptionists to our staff, Janelle and Tracy-they are doing a great job and we are so happy to have them with us. Allison is also back at the front desk on Saturdays and we are thrilled that she has agreed to stay with us in this capacity. Also new at the clinic is our digital xray machine which will make taking radiographs a lot more efficient and provide a more effective diagnostic tool for our patients. Finally, October is Fundraise for Farley Month, so please read on to get the details…..

Birth Announcments!

Hudson Roman Mair, Leeann and Rob welcomed Hudson into the world on July 2nd 2008 at 4:11am. Weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces, 20.5 inches long. (Favourite activities, sleeping, eating, pooping...just joking).

Daniel Xavier Culligan , was born on June 19/2008 to Gail and Dan and big sister Cory. Weighing in at 7lbs 11oz, Daniel has proven to be a well behaved little fellow for which mom is very grateful.

Digital Radiography

We are now equipped with a new digital radiography machine! Digital radiography provides a high quality image that allows visualization of bones and soft tissue in great detail. After being taken, a digital radiograph can be enhanced, magnified and manipulated in different ways allowing visualization of images in ways that are not possible with film x-ray. These images are captured on a computer and can be shown to a pet owner on any screen throughout the hospital. They can also be sent immediately to a specialist if needed or burned to a CD for future use. Since digital images require no “film processing”, the doctors can spend more time interpreting your pet’s results!

October is Fundraise for Farley month!!!

The Farley Foundation offers financial assistance to low income seniors and persons with disabilities to help offset costs of veterinary care for their pets. During the month of October, veterinary clinics across Ontario hold fundraising and awareness events with proceeds going to the Farley Foundation.

The Foundation pays tribute to one of Canada's most famous pets. Farley is the Old English Sheepdog who appeared in the For Better or For Worse® comic strip, created by Lynn Johnston. She has generously allowed the Foundation to use the Farley name and image to promote the Foundation's good work. For more information visit The Farley Foundation website at www.farleyfoundation.org

“Lend a Paw” and join us in October to support this very worthy cause!
